Once again IHRC is collecting donations from those Muslims intending to perform their Udhiyya or Qurbani in places where the less fortunate can avail themselves of its sustenance and blessings.

In years gone by, in line with our commitment to helping the oppressed, we have sought out groups which are in dire need.

This year will see a focus on Nigeria, as well as the Uighur and Rohingya refugees who have been forced to flee their homelands to find sanctuary in Turkey and Bangladesh/Malaysia respectively.

There are three persons whose supplications are never rejected: The just leader, the fasting person when he breaks his fast, and the oppressed when he supplicates and whose supplication is raised above the clouds and the gates of heaven are opened for it, and (to whom) Allah will say: 'By My Glory! I shall assist you, even if it is after a while.'

Prophetic Hadith

As with previous years, you can donate your Qurbani this year for the benefit of the oppressed people of Nigeria

Our meat distribution will take place in four locations:

  • In Nigeria the families of many Islamic Movement supporters killed or injured are now unable to provide for themselves and are reliant on charitable donations for their essential needs.
  • In Turkey the Uighur diaspora consists of people who have suffered the horrors of China's detention camps where torture and beatings are routine.
  • According to the United Nations, there are over one million Rohingya from Myanmar currently in exile in Bangladesh and another hundred thousand in Malaysia, having been forced to flee on foot and sea from state-sanctioned pogroms simply because of their faith.

Without your help, these people will almost certainly be deprived of the pleasure and blessings of the sacrifices that have been prescribed for Muslims on Eid al-Adha.

Our Qurbani prices may seem higher in comparison to others. Hardest to reach groups are more costly due to the complicated logistics involved in reaching them.

We intend to support the most vulnerable and marginalised groups, where other charities have no access or there are only a select few groups providing them with assistance.
